Description
I Had A Row with a German by RAF Casualty
Hardback without dust cover published by Macmillan & Co Ltd 1941
This book is a superb personal memoir of the battle of Britain, The author was Tom Gleave, in June 1940 he managed to get himself away from his desk at the Air H.Q. and found himself in command of 253 Squadron RAF, a Hurricane unit which had suffered severely in the Battle of France and was in a very demoralised state. With surprising candour given the restrictions of official censorship at the time, Tom Gleave gives a thoroughly detailed account of his time with the Squadron, describing it’s pilots and their actions up unto the day he was shot down and became one of the famous “guinea pigs”having suffered terrible burns.
